Marian Shrine | Knock Shrine | Ireland’s National Marian Shrine |

The Story of Knock began on the 21st August 1879 when Our Lady, St. Joseph and St. John the Evangelist appeared at the south gable of Knock Parish Church. The apparition was witnessed by fifteen people, young and old. From this miraculous Apparition Knock has grown to the status of an internationally recognised Marian Shrine.

The personal pilgrimage of Pope John Paul II in 1979, commemorating the centenary of the apparition, inspired an even greater devotion to the Shrine and endorsed the indelible seal of Vatican approval. Mother Teresa of Calcutta visited the Shrine in June of 1993. One and a half million pilgrims visit the Shrine annually.

I have been here, by Divine Providence, twice!! And, I say by Divine Providence mostly because it's a place out of all the major Marian Apparition sites that I would not chose first...I always wanted to see Our Lady of Guadelupe's Shrine in Mexico and Lourdes and Fatima first...and, of course, I am open to ALL marian shrines! LOL

I am so very glad Divine Providence took me here twice and always pondered why. It was a wonderful gift!

Tucson designer encourages Catholics to get 'mantled'

Tucson graphic designer Andrew Starbuck envisions all Catholics one day being “mantled.”

Inspired by Saint Faustina’s prayer to the Blessed Mother that she “cover my soul with your virginal mantle and grant me the grace of purity of heart, soul and body”, Starbuck created the Mantled Catholic Clothing company to help Catholics unapologetically share the beauty of their faith.

America's Impending Master Class Dictatorship

America's Impending Master Class Dictatorship

History has proven to tyrants that oppression works. In fact, it is easy to control a populace, once you control the money, markets, military (including police), media and minions (the recipients of welfare, social security, free health care, government jobs and the like, who are dependent upon the state and likely to be compliant). This is exactly where the United States is today.

FakeTV Burglar Deterrent Device

Interesting.

FakeTV is a burglar deterrent that recreates the light of real HDTV television. FakeTV's super-bright LEDs fill a room with light in thousands of possible shades of color. FakeTV simulates scene changes, fades, swells, and and on-screen motion. From outside, it looks just like someone is home watching TV.

Most burglars will not break into an occupied house. Why risk prison? So when a prowler sees that flickering glow that means someone is home watching TV, he knows to move on to an easier target. When you are away, FakeTV says "alive" far more than a lamp on a timer ever could. Buy a FakeTV and make your home an unappealing choice for a break-in.

Conversion of Russia as prophesied?

During the past several weeks a flurry of reports have come out of Russia that may be relevant. On January 6, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev attended midnight Mass services celebrating the Russian Orthodox Christmas in grand splendor in the traditional Vigil liturgy in Saint Christ the Savior Cathedral in the presence of four thousand people. Days later, it was reported that the Russian government will spend $100 million to fix Christian churches -- many destroyed during the horror of Communism.

Medvedev's predecessor and close associate, Vladimir Putin (who many believe is still in charge of Russia), wears a Cross. Both Putin and Medvedev frequently attend church, have been witnessed kissing icons of the Virgin Mary, and seek political and moral counsel from the Russian Orthodox clergy (in stark contrast to the comportment of American leaders).

Meanwhile, also in January, photographs have circulated of Soviet cosmonauts in the space station with four Christian icons, the Gospels, and a relic of the "true" Cross. In one photo, the relic is floating in weightlessness.

The conversion of Russia, as prophesied?

Not yet.

...not yet....but who knows the final outcome and when......this week, Yury Luzhkov, the mayor of Moscow, was quoted by Interfax news agency as calling plans for a gay-rights march there "satanic," a statement that would never be uttered by a mayor in a major American city.

DIVINE MERCY CHANNEL!

Media is one of the fastest way to reach out to souls to come back to God while it is the time for mercy, and in line with our goal to involve mass media in spreading the message of Gods love and mercy to mankind and to reconcile souls with God, the DIVINE MERCY TV CHANNEL (DMC) was launched in February 22, 2002, on the 17th year anniversary of the DM-SLPM, to be able to reach out to even more souls.

DMC is currently broadcasting God's mercy to souls 24 hours a day through video streaming (internet TV) for FREE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, powered by NetVision.
(visit our website)

DMC is able to communicate and enhance a persons spirituality by taking advantage of the continuous innovations of technology. DMC utilizes the power of the internet wherein anyone anywhere could watch the channel for free with just their computers and an internet connection simply by going to our website, www.divinemercytvchannel.com.

Furthermore, DMC also saw and made use of the power of the innovations in telecommunication, specifically MMS and SMS, more commonly known as text messaging by launching Divine Mercy in my phone. This program enables anyone with a mobile phone to know more about the messages of our Lord to St. Faustina by receiving daily messages from the Diaries of St. Faustina by means of simply subscribing by keying-in DMC ON and sending it to 2256. The program also enables the user to download in their phones various images such as the image of Divine Mercy and St. Faustina.

The channel is a clear and concrete tool used to spread the message and devotion to the Divine Mercy. What's more is that the channel enables anyone and everyone who helps spread our Lords work and message of mercy to claim our Lords promise that, Souls who spread the honor of My mercy, I shield through their entire life as a tender mother her infant, and at the hour of death, I will not be a judge for them but the Merciful Savior. (Diary Entry # 1075)

The DIVINE MERCY Say a Little Prayer MOVEMENT/ 3 O' Clock Habit a non-stock, non-profit Catholic lay organization was founded in 1985 by Bro. Don de Castro to answer our Lords call to announce to humanity the Gospel message of His mercy, and to set forth new forms of devotion to God as Mercy for everyone, especially for the ones who need it most.

With the support of radio, television and print media, the Movement launched the now widely known 3 OCLOCK HABIT a moment of prayer every 3 oclock in the afternoon, remembering the passion of our Lord in praying for peace for the whole world. The 3 oclock prayer is aired daily in different Metro Manila and provincial radio and television stations to date.

DM-SLPM is a service-oriented Movement with a main objective to propagate the Message and Devotion to the Divine Mercy, and perform the corporal and spiritual works of mercy in accordance with the messages revealed by our Lord Jesus Christ to a simple Polish nun, St. Maria Faustina Kowalska.

LET US LOVE THE TWO HEARTS OF JESUS AND MARY IN THE RECEPTION OF THE HOLY EUCHARIST.

LET US LOVE THE TWO HEARTS OF JESUS AND MARY
IN THE RECEPTION OF THE HOLY EUCHARIST.

HE GAVE HIMSELF TO US ON THE CROSS. HE GIVES HIMSELF TO US IN THE EUCHARIST.

How great was the act of love, God gave to this world, when He gave Himself and died on the cross. He gives Himself to us this day in the Holy Eucharist.

The greatest commandment is that we must love God with our whole heart, our whole soul, and our whole being. This is a commandment. If we are to enter heaven, we must follow the commandments. They are commands given by God for us to follow.

The greatest act we can do on this earth is an act of loving God. The reason for our existence is to love God. In the sacrament of His greatest love, He gives Himself to us. This is an act of love on His part. We are called to respond by giving ourselves in love to Him.

This is the purpose of the Holy Eucharist: to unite in such oneness with our Holy, Loving God. Our all consuming passion should be that of loving God. How many go to the Eucharist with the sole purpose of giving great love to God? He wants us to love Him. He wants souls to tell Him how much they truly love Him. This is the most intimate act of love when Jesus gives Himself-Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity to man. If it is such an act of love, how are we receiving Him in Communion? We should beg God, in this most intimate union with Him, to help us to love Him with greatest love.

Jesus is a Person. He wants our love. The Holy Spirit wants such intimacy with us. Our Father wants us to love Him. In the Eucharist, we unite with God. In this intimate act of uniting with our beloved God, with Divinity, we must pour out our love to God. We must pour out our heart to the most adorable Heart of Jesus. Jesus is so unjustly treated by many of His beloved souls He loves so much. Let us help make reparation to the Almighty God by loving God with our whole heart, our whole soul, and our whole being in the sacrament of His greatest love. This is the Gift of Himself.

Think of how it is to love someone and give your all for that person, to pour out your heart to him or her and then be treated with coldness and neglect. It hurts our heart so much more when we deeply love someone to be rejected by that person. Jesus loves us with the deepest love. We cannot fully comprehend this love. Let us love Him with the deepest love. Let us love Mary and her Immaculate Heart. Let us love her as the Mother of God. Let us love her as the virgin who bore the Son of God. May we, in the reception of the Eucharist pour out our love to Him, to this adorable Heart. May we pour out our love to His Holy Mother.

Mary said at Fatima that Jesus wants His Heart venerated next to the heart of His Mother. Let us love these two Hearts as we receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist. Then we are so deeply united with God. We see Their two Hearts surrounded with thorns for the injustices against Their Hearts. Let us help make reparation daily as we receive Him in the Eucharist. This is a special time to help make reparation to Their wounded Hearts.

Let us remember how He poured His love out to us on the cross and how He pours out His love to us now when He gives us Himself in the Eucharist, the Eucharist which contains His Heart of burning love. His Heart was pierced with a lance. Her heart was invisibly pierced with a sword. As the wounds in Their Hearts are deep, so too is Their love so deep.

He does not want "surface love". He wants hearts filled with deep burning love.

Mother of Our Christ-Life

Mother of Our Christ-life

Mary is the Mother of our Christ-life, this life which flows to us from the bosom of the Father, through Christ, in the Holy Spirit. Pope John Paul II beautifully links Mary's spiritual motherhood toward us with her being Mother of Christ, Mother of the Church, and Model of the Church. "Mary is present in the Church as the Mother of Christ, and at the same time as the Mother whom Christ, in the mystery of the Redemption, gave to humanity in the person of the Apostle John. Thus, in her new motherhood in the Spirit, Mary embraces each and every one in the Church, and embraces each and every one through the Church. In this sense, Mary, Mother of the Church, is also the Church's model. Indeed, as Paul VI hopes and asks: the Church must draw 'from the Virgin Mother of God the most authentic form of perfect imitation of Christ.'" (10)

The Heart of Mary

The Heart of Mary

Pope John-Paul II gives us these inspiring words: "Be blessed above all things, Handmaid of the Lord, who obeyed the Divine Call in the fullest way! Be greeted, you who united yourself entirely with your Son's redemptive consecration! Mother of the Church! Enlighten the People of God on the way of faith, hope and charity! Help us to live with all the truth of the consecration of Christ for the entire human family in the contemporary world. By entrusting, O Mother, the world, all individuals and all peoples to you, we also entrust to you the very consecration of the world, putting it in your Maternal Heart.

"O, Immaculate Heart! Help us to overcome the threat of evil, which so easily takes root in the hearts of men today and, with the incommensurable effects, already weighs upon our contemporary existence and seems to close the way toward the future.

"Free us from hunger and war! From nuclear war, from incalculable self-destruction, from every kind of war, free us! From the sin against the life of man at its dawning, free us! From the hatred and debasement of the children of God, free us! From every kind of injustice, national and international, free us! From the ease treading down God's commandments, free us! From sins against the Holy Spirit, free us! Free us!

Receive, O Mother of Christ, this cry charged with the sufferings of all mankind! Charged with the suffering of entire societies. Reveal yourself once again, in the story of the world, to be merciful! May this cry halt evil! May it transform consciences!
May the light of hope, reveal itself to all in your Immaculate Heart! Amen".14

Words of Wisdom

One night a man was sleeping in his cabin when suddenly his room filled with light and God appeared to him giving him a mandate saying:
- "There is a large rock in front of your hut: from now on, day after day, I want you to" push " with all your strength."

Surprised at the sight the man decided to obey.

For many years he toiled dawn to dusk, with his clothes torn, feeling that their effort was in vain.

- Seeing the discouragement, the adversary (Satan) decided to enter the picture by placing thoughts in his mind all worn.

- You have pushed that rock for so long, and she did not move. Do not you better give up? Leave this task to another.

These thoughts discouraged and gave him the impression that the task was too much for him and that he was a failure.

- Why should I kill myself doing this? He thought.  What a waste of my God-given life! I just put effort in doing what the Lord asked me;
However, after all this time, I can not move the rock…not even by a millimeter. What is wrong? I failed?

Lord, in His infinite mercy and knowing the grief that took care of that heart, replied:
- "My son, when I told you to serve Me and you accepted, I explained that your task would be to push the rock with all his strength every day, and that's what you have done. I had never ordered the move. His task was only to push it. Why do you think you failed? Look at you!
Your arms are strong and muscular, your back is stiff and tanned, your hands are callused, your legs became muscular and strong. You got many attributes and they make you BETTER than before!
You have not moved the rock, but note: your calling was to be OBEDIENT and to PUSH it,
exercising your faith and trust in Me.
And that you did. NOW, I will move the rock!

Sometimes we interpret what God really means.
In all truth, exercise the FAITH that moves mountains, but know that it is still God who MOVES them!

So ...
- When everything seems wrong
- When work lets you down
- When people do not act the way you expect
- When your money is gone and the bills appear
- When people do not understand you .....................

only - PUSH!

Pope laments 'scorn,' of religion in the West : Religion General

"Sadly, in certain countries, mainly in the West, one encounters in political and cultural circles, as well in the media, scarce respect and at times hostility, if not scorn, directed towards religion and towards Christianity in particular," the pontiff added.

In his address, Benedict said there is an urgent need to promote a "positive and open secularity" which could "foster healthy cooperation and a spirit of shared responsibility," with people who hold religious beliefs.

Litany of the Saints From John Paul II's Funeral

An Encouragement

KEEP AT YOUR WORK

The Lord has given to every man his work. It is his business to do it, and the devil's business to hinder him if he can. So sure as God has given you a work to do, satan will try to hinder you.

He may present other things more promising. He may allure you by worldly prospects, he may assault you with slander, torment you with false accusations, set you to work defending your character, employ pious persons to lie about you, editors to assail you, and excellent men to slander you.

You may have Pilate and Herod, Ananias and Caiaphas all combined against you, and Judas standing by you ready to sell you for thirty pieces of silver; and you may wonder why all those things come upon you.

Can you not see that the whole thing is brought about through the craft of the devil? To draw you off from your work and hinder your obedience to God?

Keep about your work. Do not flinch because the lion roars; do not stop to stone the devil's dogs; do not fool away your time chasing the devil's rabbits. Do your work!

Let liars lie, let sectarians quarrel, let corporations resolve, let editors publish, let the devil do his worst; but see to it that nothing hinders you from fulfilling the work God has given you.

He has not sent you to make money. He has not commanded you to get rich. He has never bidden you to defend your character, He has not set you at work to contradict falsehood which satan and his servants may start to peddle. If you do these things, you will do nothing else; you will be at work for yourself and not for the Lord.

Keep about your work. Let your aim be as steady as a star. Let the world brawl and bubble. You may be assaulted, wronged, insulted, slandered, wounded and rejected; you may be abused by foes, forsaken by friends and despised and rejected of men, but see to it, with steadfast determination, with unfaltering zeal, that you pursue the great purpose of your life and object of your being, until at last you can say: "I have finished the work which Thou gavest me to do".

St Jean Eudes Prayer

Here is one of his prayers to the Sacred Heart:

Oh, how good and delightful it is to dwell in the Heart of Jesus! Thy Heart, O good Jesus, is a precious treasure, a precious pearl which we have found by digging the field of Thy Body. Who will cast aside this pearl? Nay, rather I will give all I have, I will exchange all my thoughts and desires and purchase it. I will cast all my care on the Heart of the Lord Jesus and He will provide for me without fail. I will adore in this temple, this Holy of Holies, this Ark of the Testament, and I will praise the name of the Lord, saying with David, "I have found my heart that I may pray to my God. And I have found the heart of my King, my Brother, my Friend, the benign Jesus, and why shall I not adore?" Assuredly I shall pray. For His Heart is mine. I will say it boldly, for Christ is my Head, is not what belongs to my Head mine? Therefore as the eyes of my corporal head are truly my eyes, so is my spiritual heart my heart. Therefore, it is well with me: truly I have but one Heart with Jesus and what wonder that there should be but one heart with the multitude of believers. Amen.

San Antonio Retreat Jan 30th Author: Michael H. Brown.

Catholic Author Michael H. Brown will present an all-day session on the afterlife, spiritual deliverance, and prophecy Saturday, January 30, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Marriott Plaza at 555 South Alamo Street [see below for directions]. We will also have a Vigil Mass (Fr. James Farfaglia) and blessings of salt and water. There will be special deliverance prayers. There also will be a specific discussion of potential epidemics as well as the "new world order" due to recent events.

There will be the discussion of the afterlife (Heaven, purgatory, and hell), spiritual warfare (especially protection as evil rises), and inner healing (including family cleansing), but this time around there will more of a focus on the theories of a coming globalization and new world order due to the quickening events around us -- an attempt to separate far-fetched ideas from the reality of a changing planet.

What's in the wind? What is in the wind for the Southwest? What are our priorities in life? What can we look for here -- and hereafter?

For whom do the bells toll?

The day will start with a discussion of the afterlife -- followed by spiritual warfare, protection in our times, and alleged visions and apparitions. Talks, discussions, and a question-and-answer period will extensively address what is occurring in the world; the hidden aspects of current times; and how we grow close to God and tap into His power (and the miraculous) -- how we should perceive and deal with the turbulent times we live in. And how we can be healed by the special graces at this moment in time! There will be door admission.

The discussion of heightened demonic attacks on families will address how to ward such off, the role of Confession and the Eucharist, and extensive review of Heaven, hell, and purgatory. So too will we discuss alleged apparitions and prophecy along with "secrets." We will recite family-healing prayers and discuss this fascinating topic. Cardinal thumbs down excessive devotion for Nazarene

Cardinal thumbs down excessive devotion for Nazarene

MANILA, Philippines -- Manila Archbishop Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales has disapproved of the "excessive" devotion shown by thousands of Catholics who virtually mobbed the Black Nazarene icon during its annual procession and in the process, hurt each other.

Rosales said the real devotion to the Black Nazarene called for leading a life of simplicity and selflessness....click link for more info...

Who is Lord?

"Who is Lord but the Lord, or who is God but our God?" You are the greatest and the best, mightiest, almighty, most merciful and most just, utterly hidden and utterly present, most beautiful and most strong, abiding yet mysterious, suffering no change and changing all things: never new, never old, making all things new, "bringing age upon the proud, and they know it not." Ever in action, ever at rest, gathering all things to Yourself and needing none; sustaining and fulfilling and protecting, creating and nourishing and making perfect; ever seeking though lacking nothing.

You love without subjection to passion, You are jealous but not with fear; You can know repentance but not sorrow, be angry yet unperturbed by anger. You can change the things You have made but Your mind remains changeless. You find and receive back what You never lost; are never in need but rejoice over Your gains; are not greedy but demand interest manifold. Men pay You more than they have to in order to win from You in return, yet who has anything which is not already Yours? You owe nothing yet pay as if You were in debt to Your creatures, forgive what is owed to You yet without losing thereby. And with all this, what have I said, my God and my Life and my sacred Delight? What can anyone say when he speaks of You? Yet woe to them who are silent of You, when even those who say most are but dumb.

St. Augustine

I love this quote :-).

Holy is the Lord

+   Holy, holy, holy, the Lord God almighty, who was, and who is, and who is coming. Worthy art thou, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for thou hast created all things, and because of thy will they existed, and were created. We give thee thanks, O Lord God almighty, who art, and who wast, because thou hast taken thy great power and hast begun thy reign. And the nations were angered, but thy wrath came and the time for the dead to be judged, and for giving the reward to thy servants—the prophets, and the saints, and those who fear thy name, the small and the great—and for destroying those who corrupted the earth. Great and marvellous are thy works, O Lord God almighty; just and true are thy ways, O King of the ages. Who will not fear thee, O Lord, and magnify thy name? for thou alone art holy. For all nations will come and worship before thee; because thy judgments are manifest.

Apocalypse 4:8, 11; 11:17-18; 15:3-4

Holy, holy, holy, Lord of Hosts: the heavens and the earth of FILLED with YOUR glory!! :-)

Prayer of Admiration and Praise 2

St. Francis of Assisi's Canticle of the Sun one of the purest professions of praise of the Godhead in Christian hagiography. Even those who are not Christians admire its sentiments and all of us can make them our own.

"O most High, Almighty, good Lord,
to You belongs praise, glory, honor and all blessing.
Praised be my Lord God with all His creatures,
and especially our Brother the Sun
who brings us the day and brings us the night.
Fair is he and shines with a very great splendor.
O Lord, he signifies You to us.
Praised be my Lord for our Sister the Moon
and for the stars which He has set clear and lovely in heaven.
Praised be my Lord for our Brother the Wind
and for the air and clouds, calms and all weather
by which You uphold life in all creatures.
Praised be my Lord for our Sister Water who is very
serviceable to us,
and humble and precious and very clean.
Praised be my Lord for our Brother Fire through which You give
us light in the darkness.
He is bright and pleasant and very mighty and strong.
Praised be my Lord for our Mother the Earth which sustains us
keeping us, and brings forth grass and diverse fruits
and flowers of many kinds.
Praise and bless the Lord and give thanks to Him
and serve Him with great humility. Amen."

We praise God whenever we use even the least things God has made...because we see beyond them and behind them and beneath them God's original act of creation and His constant, sustaining divine power.

Prayer of Admiration and Praise

To God, "How wonderful You are." I quote Augustine:

"You love without subjection to passion.
You are jealous but not with fear.
You can know repentance but not sorrow,
be angry and unperturbed by anger.
You can change the things You have made
but Your mind remains changeless.
You find and receive back what You never lost;
are never in need but rejoice over Your gains;
are not greedy but demand interest manifold.
Men pay You more that they have to in order to win from You in return,
yet who has anything which is not already Yours?
You owe nothing, yet pay as if You were in debt to Your creatures.
Forgive what is owed to You, yet without losing thereby.
And with all this what have I said,
My God and my life and my sacred delight.
What can anyone say when he speaks of You?
Yet woe to them who are silent about You.
When even those who say most are but dumb."

When people tell us, "how wonderful you are!" we are thrilled! Let us show that admiration to God and thrill Him, too! :-)

Again, too precious.

Just think: 2 years ago her mother could have aborted her legally, and now here she is alive and happy and singing to God. Life is a beautiful gift. :-)

Antiabortion forces are sweeping Mexico | Philadelphia Inquirer | 01/10/2010

Antiabortion forces are sweeping Mexico

When the high court upheld Mexico City's law, it opened the door for a wide backlash.

MEXICO CITY - Abortion-rights activists dreamed of legislative victories across Mexico after its Supreme Court last year upheld a Mexico City law allowing abortion during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. Instead, the opposite has happened.

Amen--keep praying!

The Flame of Love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary

TEACHINGS 1969-1981

Partial Quote by Jesus in the book, Spiritual Diary:

"My Love is almighty. Get thoroughly into your mind this great miracle: I am continuously at your disposal. With Me, all of you don’t need to wait forming a queue, nor asking the hour and place for an appointment. I am present everywhere continually. If you call Me, my ear is already against your heart and I attend to you, I caress you, I cure you...." _Jesus

He is Love...He is so beautiful, so gentle, so merciful...how can we not be be so devoted and in love with Him...how we can easily prefer material things or created things over His love and intimate friendship and serving Him and His Will is amazing, but we all do it or have done it...let's keep each other in prayer so we overcome that.

Prayer

"The Creator of the universe awaits the prayer of one poor little soul to save a multitude of others, redeemed like her at the price of His Blood."

--St. Therese of Lisieux

For Reflection:

WOW! St. Therese is saying that God is waiting for MY prayer so that a multitude of others may be saved through the Blood of His Son. Who would He choose for me to pray for today? What is my response?

Prayer

"Prayer is not only the mutual presence of God and the soul. It is also a relationship between them, a relationship of intimacy, exchange, activity, and life indeed, it is the highest kind of life there is, the life of love, divine love."

~Canon Jacques Leclercq

For Reflection:

What characterizes my prayer life - is it a monologue rather than a dialogue; is it a stream of rote prayers with no thought or meditation involved, is it a "grocery list" of petitions or "I wants?" Or, is my prayer life a relationship of intimacy, exchange, and love between God and my soul? How can I work more fervently toward this latter description?

24 Hours in A Day of Opportunity

How many useless thoughts, how many superfluous preoccupations, which whirl around our own ego and fill us during one single day ! How many journeys there and back do we do mechanically in one single day!

What efficient means it could be to educate us by ourselves if, by a thought of love, we should help a suffering soul! They are going to be very grateful for that, and in their Blessed state (in Heaven), they will help us in our work to save souls. For our part, this compassion serves us as merit, and the Most Holy Virgin changes it in good for souls.
