Feast of the Chair of Peter

Today is the Feast of the Chair of Peter, which celebrates the institution of the Office of the Papacy by Jesus, when he gave Peter the keys (Matthew 16:18-20). Please remember Pope Benedict in your prayers today since he is Peter for us in our time. :-)

Padre Marco D'Aviano is our patron.

Why? See below!

Why Cappuccino??

First "Starbucks" Saint???

Read on!

'Cappuccino' is derived from the Italian word 'Capuchin'.

The Catholic Capuchin monks wear headdress that bear a likeness to the frothy layer of cappuccino.

Pope Beatifies Inventor of Cappuccino:

On April 27, 2003, Pope John Paul beatified Padre Marco d'Aviano, a 17th-century friar credited with halting a Muslim invasion of Europe and in the process discovering the frothy coffee-drink cappuccino. More than 300 years after his death, Marco d'Aviano cleared the last step before sainthood, as the pope recognised the friar's miraculous work including curing a nun who had been bedridden for 13 years. History books also show that with a vast Ottoman Turk army beating a path to Vienna in 1683, d'Aviano was sent by the then-pope to unite the outnumbered Christian troops, spurring them to victory. As the Turks fled, legend has it they left behind sacks of coffee, which the Christians found too bitter, so they sweetened it with honey and milk. The drink, now supped by millions around the world, was called cappuccino after the Capuchin order of monks to which d'Aviano belonged. Under a cloudy sky in St Peter's Square on Sunday, the pope paid tribute to d'Aviano and five other Italians whom he also beatified. "They show us the path to follow, always confident in God's help," the pope told thousands of gathered faithful.

Our site is under the patronage of Padre Marco d'Aviano! =)

St Maximilian Kolbe Consecration to Mary:

"O Immaculata, Queen of Heaven and earth, refuge of sinners and our most loving Mother,God has willed to entrust the entire order of mercy to you. I,(name), a repentant sinner, cast myself at your feet, humbly imploring you to take me with all that I am and have, wholly to yourself as your possession and property. Please make of me, of all my powers of soul and body, of my whole life, death, and eternity, whatever most pleases you. If it pleases you, use all that I am and have without reserve, wholly to accomplish what was said of you: "She will crush your head," and "You alone have destroyed all heresies in the whole world." Let me be a fit instrument in your immaculate and merciful hands for introducing and increasing your glory to the maximum in all the many strayed and indifferent souls and this help extend as far as possible the blessed kingdom of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. For wherever you enter you obtain the grace of conversion and growth in holiness since it is through your hands that all graces come to us from the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. V. Allow me to praise you O sacred Virgin. R. Give me strength against your enemies." - Amen.

PRO-LIFE:

Pray daily to spare the life of an unborn child you adopt spiritually:
"Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I love you very much. I beg you to spare the life of the pre-born child that I have spiritually adopted who is in danger of abortion. Amen."
"I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. Choose life, then." (Deut. 30:19)

CHOOSE LIFE!
"Thou shalt NOT kill." --God, Creator of ALL Life
Abort means 'to stop'...
stop what in this case?
A HUMAN LIFE created by God in his image!
"Crucify him!" THIS IS MY BODY and I'LL DO WHAT I WANT.
"Father, forgive them, they know not what they do!" "This is MY body, GIVEN UP FOR YOU."--Jesus. "Whatsoever you do to the least, you do TO ME."

So many REFUSE to see the pictures and the videos of abortion because they find it horrifying...yet they silently do nothing as it happens daily to their brothers and sisters in Christ! If you are silent, you basically are giving a nod of approval. If you are too scared to look at abortion...yet are pro-abortion...think that over...that does not make sense...you need to know exactly WHAT you are for!! Every choice is an eternal choice in life. Every action has consequences.
