Oklahoma City woman's art featuring weapon-toting Virgin Mary gains national exposure.
I post from America Needs Fatima below: (for the full article, click above link).
Please tell them to STOP BLASPHEMING Our Lady with this impure exhibit at the AKA Gallery in Oklahoma City
Send your instant e-protest now.
Dear Friends,
DO NOT read further if you think you will be too deeply injured by this blasphemy.
But I deeply regret to tell you that Our Lady is being blasphemed by an exhibit showing her holding a k n i f e, a g u n, and a handgrenade amid ads for lingerie at the AKA Gallery in Oklahoma City.
According to press reports, "the weapons being held by the Virgin Mary in Artus" art are embroidered in rose or yellow. The artwork also features vintage ads promoting products for women such as lingerie and hair nets.
"For example, one picture of the Virgin Mary holding a pink-embroidered small h a n d g u n is surrounded by sections of a vintage Frederick's of Hollywood lingerie newspaper ad touting the promotion line "Make Her Over to Please You."
This is blasphemy … completely beyond the pale, and deserves your immediate protest and reparation.
Send your instant e-protest to the AKA Gallery now.
Thankfully, local members of America Needs Fatima are speaking out against the blasphemous exhibit and have asked for our prayers and support for their prayerful protest in front of the AKA Gallery.
If you are in the area, or know someone who lives in Oklahoma City, please tell them about this prayerful protest and act of reparation. For details, please call Mr. Lou Scheidemantel at 405-274-6278.
But this exhibit is just too much. Here's a link to the article about the exhibit, but please read with CAUTION.
http://newsok.com/oklahoma-city-womans-art-featuring-weapon-toting-virgin-mar...
Above all, let's storm heaven with acts of reparation and spread this protestto devout Catholics worldwide.
Thank you!
Sincerely in Jesu et Maria,
Robert E. Ritchie

P.S. The Evil One would love us to become callous to the growing number of blasphemies against Our Lady, and to do nothing when we witness them. We cannot let that happen. To frustrate the Evil One's plans, please send this crusade of peaceful protest and reparation to your friends.

Claim that Catholic schools teach 'Gandhi is burning in Hell' illustrates lawmakers' incomprehension
Challenged to identify the Catholic schools that were teaching this bizarre doctrine, Lord Lucas refused to do so, for fear of reprisals. Uh-huh.
WE CATHOLICS need to CALL OUT all those who TWIST what we believe and "put it out there" as fact...knowing that many just believe what they hear on TV/media. No more quiet wheel...we need to be a loud squeaky wheel that calls out the liars, the haters, and/or the mis-informed I believe. We can do that in a loving way, but we must do it.
Catholics in NO WAY believe "Gandhi's burning in hell"...that's insane!! That is just a shot of hate to the Catholics...trying to cause Catholic-bashing (in my humble opinion).

PRIESTS MUST ALWAYS REMAIN WITH CHRIST
"The priesthood must never represent a way to achieve security in life or to attain social position. Anyone who aspires to the priesthood in order to increase his personal prestige and power has radically misunderstood the significance of this ministry. Anyone whose main goal is to realise an ambition of his own, to achieve success, will always be a slave to himself and to public opinion. In order to be noticed he will have to adulate; he must say what people want to hear, he must adapt to changing fashions and opinions. In this way, he will deprive himself of the vital relationship with truth, reducing himself to condemning tomorrow what he praises today.
"A man who organises his life like this", the Holy Father added, "a priest who sees his ministry in these terms, does not truly love God and neighbour, he loves only himself and, paradoxically, ends up by losing himself.

More Biebls in the Classroom
Does the First Amendment need protection from itself? A case from Washington State, although just rejected by the Supreme Court, suggests it might: Franz Biebl, a perfectly pleasant Bavarian composer, has been banned there, in Snohomish County. Worse, it was Biebl's most popular work, his setting of "Ave Maria," that was expelled from Henry "Scoop" Jackson High School.
To set the stage, understand that the Biebl Ave Maria is something of a "greatest hit" for choral societies, at least in the United States.
My daughter, in concert this last concert at her high school, played his Ave Maria....it is a PUBLIC (Texas) school. Amen for that. Needless to say, I was surprised and happy they played it w/o thinking "It's Catholic." It's lovely.

The Rise of Cross-less Catholicism
(click link to read full article)
In a recent visit to Turin, Pope Benedict XVI remarked: "Towards the end of the 19th century, Nietzsche wrote: 'God is dead! And we have killed him.'" Far from disagreeing with this view, Benedict adds: "This famous saying is clearly taken almost literally from the Christian tradition. We often repeat it in the Way of the Cross, perhaps without being fully aware of what we are saying." Nietzsche is orthodox!
And how is it that we have "killed God?"
Surely, it is through our sins and other "negative" things. Thus, if we do not even want to talk about these things, as Tolkien and Lewis do, we will have no conception of what Catholicism is about. We will deny that things we do need attention. Many schools, Catholic ones included, live in an environment in which the early practice of virtue is almost impossible. A friend of mine who homeschools her son recently told me that she was grateful to be almost through the "middle school" period, as that was the worst arena morally in most school systems.
Fishers of Men & China
Today the Orthodox church (some churches on June 11) commemorates its Martyrs of China (1900). Certainly martyrs of China today include Catholics and Protestants. Martyrdom is one place where, sharing in the sufferings of Christ, Christians know a deeper unity in Christ, being united intensely to Christ in their sufferings.
