I love this painting. Look at who represents God....does he look menacing? Scary? Mean? Judgmental? Harsh? Full of Anger? About to toss all the crap this son did into his face?? No....I see nothing but anguish and gratitude....and deep abiding love....so grateful for his return.....Let's remember that when we fear going to the confessional....it's a fear from Satan....THIS is a picture of what you'll experience. Don't those arms look so wonderful? Doesn't this chest look like a nice one to be held tightly to? :-)
